Cuba Cycling Holidays - Caribbean Flair By Bike - Itinerary
This 12-day cycling tour is for holidaymakers who would like to actively explore Eastern Cuba. You will use our trekking bicycles for daily 20 to 70 kilometre journeys through this fantastic area. Our support bus will transport your luggage, and you can hop on whenever you wish to take a break from cycling.
Itinerary
Day 1: Holguín
You will arrive at Holguín airport. An Optional Transfer to the Hotel is available.

Day 2: Bayamo – Manzanillo
After breakfast your cycling tour begins with a 70 kilometre trip to Manzanillo, a small harbour town on the coast which is known mainly for exporting sugar and its crabs and lobsters. You will have picnic lunch during the tour. In the evening you will stay and dine at the Hotel Guacanayabo, where you will be able to enjoy a magnificent view of the sea.

Day 3: Manzanillo – Niquero
You'll continue your journey on your trusty bicycle. Today's destination, Niquero, is about 85 kilometres away, and most of the route is along the coast. You will enjoy a picnic lunch on the way. Niquero is perfect for nature enthusiasts and there are many trails and caves near the hotel to explore.

Day 4: Niquero – Santiago de Cuba
After breakfast you will continue the cycling tour with a 70 kilometre trip from Niquero to Santiago de Cuba. Santiago de Cuba you is the home of Cuba’s passion and African heritage, and known by many as Cuba’s secret capital. En route you will enjoy a picnic lunch. You will have the evening free to explore Santiago de Cuba in your own way, for example you enjoy some live music in the Casa de la Trova. You will stay at Hotel Villa Gaviota or Versalles.

Day 5: El Cobre – Santiago de Cuba
After breakfast the bus will take you to the starting point of today’s 25 kilometre ride - El Cobre. El Cobre’s spectacular location and fascinating history captivate its visitors. The pilgrimage church Caridad del Cobre was built at the beginning of the 17th Century to honour the Holy Virgin, who was the patron saint of the slaves working in the mines. You will return to Santiago de Cuba, have lunch in a local restaurant and enjoy a guided city tour. You will visit the 26th July museum

Day 6: Santiago de Cuba - Chivirico – Santiago de Cuba
After breakfast, cycle tour of 70 kilometres to Chivirico, lunch and free time. Transfer back to Santiago de Cuba.

Day 7: Santiago de Cuba - Playa Verraco – Bucanero
Your day will start with a 35 kilometre bicycle tour to the beach of Verraco, a location you won’t want to leave! You will have a picnic lunch en route. After enjoying the beach for a while the bus will take you to your hotel in Bucanero.

Day 8: Bucanero – Baconao
After breakfast, cycle tour of 30 kilometres to Baconao Park, visit to Valle de la Prehistoria and lunch. Transfer back to Bucanero.

Day 9: Bucanero – Baracoa
Today you will cycle further east. To begin with, you will hop on the bus for a few kilometres before cycling along the picturesque coast (approximately 40 kilometres). After a break and a bus transfer through the mountains of Sierra de Guntanámo you will continue cycling for a further 30 kilometres to Baracoa, the oldest colonial city in Latin America. You will have a picnic lunch and a city tour of Baracoa.

Day 10: Baracoa – Boca de Yumuri – Baracoa
Today’s somewhat hilly bicycle tour takes you through flora and fauna unique to the river estuary of Boca de Yumuri. You will visit the fishing village of the same name and will have the opportunity to go on a boat tour (not included in the tour). After relaxing at the water you will be driven back to Baracoa. You will have a picnic during the trip.

Day 11: Baracoa – Playa Maguana – Baracoa
After breakfast you will enjoy a bicycle tour ride to the amazing white beach of Playa Maguana (approximately 30 kilometres). After a swim you will be return to Baracoa in the tour bus, where you will have the opportunity to explore the town centre. Accommodation will be in the Hotel Porto Santo.

Day 12: Baracoa – Guardalavaca
Today marks the end of your cycling tour. The bus will take you to your hotel in Guardalavaca or to the aiport in Holguín.
