Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Arrival in Havana and transfer (optional) to your accommodation Hotel Habana Libre.
Day 2: Havana – Pinar del Río
After breakfast you will meet your guide and will be taken on bus to Pinar del Río, a tobacco region in western Cuba. You will visit a tobacco factory and discover the town by foot on a guided city walk. We will continue to Viñales Valley and have lunch in a typical restaurant. After a short rest we will start on our first bicycle tour through the Viñales Valley, one of the island’s most attractive natural landscapes. In this region, the legendary Cuban tobacco grows between the steep Mogote rock protrusions as the climate and soil are ideal for growing tobacco. There are also numerous cave formations including the Cueva del Indio, a 90 metre underground cave, which we will visit.

Day 3: Viñales - Cayo Jutías - Viñales
Today’s journey takes us to Cayo Jutias. After breakfast we will set off on a 55 km tour, enjoying the breathtaking views of the Sierra de los Órganos, which lies to the North West. The picturesque beach of Cayo Jutías is situated on a little island connected to the mainland by a man-made causeway. Once there, we will have lunch. In the afternoon you can choose to hire a boat or to swim in the beautiful sea. On the way back you can choose to cycle or catch a lift on the support bus. Overnight and dinner at hotel Rancho San Vicente.

Day 4: Viñales - Valle Ancón
On today’s tour we will take the Jagua Vieja Road to Palma in the Ancón Valley. This will be a beautiful 30 km cycle of charming landscapes and untouched valleys. En route there is the possibility to visit the country lodge where Fidel Castro held secret meetings during the Cuban Revolution. We will have a picnic lunch in the lush valley before continuing to our final destination for the day: Hotel Villa Aguas Claras. The hotel is nestled in idyllic surroundings which are perfect for a short hike or walk, here we will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 5: Soroa
After breakfast we will be taken to Cueva de los Portales. This beautiful area was the hide out that Che Guevara used during the Cuba crisis in October 1962. We will start the daily bicycle tour (ca. 45 km) to Soroa over the Carretera Central. In Soroa, we recommend paying a visit to its famous orchid gardens. For dinner we will meet at the hotel Villa Soroa, where we will also spend the night.

Day 6: Las Terrazas
Today’s tour will lead you after breakfast to Las Terrazas. The community is located in the Sierra Rosario. The 25.000 hectare lot was declared a biosphere resort by UNESCO. Nowadays, the inhabitants live on eco tourism and timber industry. You will eat at a farm house on the way. Overnight accommodation at Hotel El Moka.

Day 7: Havana
After breakfast you will be taken by bus to Havana. After a short relaxing break at the Hotel you will have lunch at a local restaurant in the old part of the city. Afterwards you will have time in the afternoon to explore the rest of the city. You will spend the night at the Hotel Habana Libre.

Day 8: Departure
Today you will have to say goodbye to Cuba. Use the morning to do some final souvenir shopping and explore further hidden spots of the beautiful Habana Vieja before your transfer to Havana International Airport (optional)

Cuba Cycling Tour - Cuba En Bici - Itinerary
This 8-day bicycle trip is for active travellers who would like to explore Western Cuba. On our trekking bicycles you will cover daily distances between 20-55 km, cycling through the unique Viñales Valley, which is famous for its “mogote“ hills and excellent tobacco. Our support bus will transport your luggage, and you can hop on whenever you wish to take a break from cycling.
