Itinerary Total Cuba: 3 Weeks
Day 1: Arrival Havana
Arrival at the international airport in Havana and transfer to the hotel (optional).
Day 2: Havana
You will explore Habana Vieja, the historic city centre which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982 with a tour guide. You can still feel the atmosphere of days gone by as you walk through the old passages past the many stately homes. After visiting the Havana Club Rum Museum you will have the chance to wander through the old town on your own.

Day 3: Havana – Pinar del Río – Viñales
After breakfast we will make our way to Pinar del Río in the western part of the island. On a tour through a tobacco factory the local experts will teach you how to roll typical Cuban cigars –puros. From here you will continue on to Viñales. This small village is beautifully situated amid fields of tobacco and “Mogote” hills – steep limestone protrusions that are typical of the region. After visiting the Cueva del Indio cave you will have lunch at Palenque de los Cimarrones.

Day 4: Day trip to Cayo Jutías
Today will be spent on a day trip to the Cayo Jutias beaches. Here you can lie back and unwind for a day, relax at the beach, dip into the crystal clear water or go on a boat tour. Lunch will be served at the Restaurant at the beach.

Day 5: Soroa
Your first stop of the day is the orchid garden in Soroa where you can admire more than 700 different types of orchids. Afterwards you will visit the Las Terrazas biosphere nature reserve. On a walk through the reserve you will learn more about the project.

Day 6: Soroa – Cienfuegos
In the morning you will head towards Cienfuegos. On the way you will stop in Santa Clara to visit the famous Che Guevara Memorial. Next Cienfuegos, one of Cuba’s most beautiful and vibrant cities, awaits you. Cienfuegos is home to the architectural masterpieces of the Palacio de Valle, which has Gothic, Venetian and Neo-Moorish influences. After a tour of the city you will enjoy dinner at Palacio de Valle.

Day 7: Cienfuegos – Trinidad
On the way to Trinidad you will stop at the botanical garden in Cienfuegos. Here there are some 2,000 different plants spread across 90 hectares.

Day 8: Trinidad
You will start the day with a walk through colonial Trinidad. The city is situated on a hill with views towards the sea and the mountains. Diego Velázquez founded Trinidad in 1514 and today it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the old colonial city there are many things to be discovered, such as the Palacio Brunet, one of the most stunning palaces in town, which today serves as a museum – the Museo Romántico. In the afternoon you will have some spare time to explore the city as you wish or to go on an excursion. In the evening you will visit Casa de la Trova where you will have the chance to dance to Cuban live music.

Day 9: Trinidad – Camagüey
Today you will head towards Camagüey, passing sugar cane fields en route and stopping at Torre Iznaga, a 50m tall watchtower which used to be used to oversee slaves on the sugar fields –– if you wish you can climb up to enjoy the view from the top. A sightseeing tour will lead you through the contorted streets of Camagüey, a city which has a unique architectural style. After the city tour you will be free to enjoy the evening at your leisure.

Day 10: Camagüey – Bayamo - Sierra Maestra
Today the tranquillity of the city of Bayamo awaits you. After enjoying the idyllic views and peaceful atmosphere we will continue to Sierra Maestra, the nerve centre of the Cuban revolution. Even nowadays there is still a scent of revolution in the air.

Today you will take a walk through Sierra Maestra and enjoy the spectacular views.

Day 12: Sierra Maestra – Santiago de Cuba
You will leave the mountains of Sierra Maestra and make your way to the unofficial or secret capital of the country, Santiago de Cuba. On your way you will stop at El Cobre, a breathtaking sanctuary.

Day 13: Santiago de Cuba
Today an extensive city tour through Santiago awaits you including lunch at a local restaurant. Nowhere else on the island will you find such a colourful cultural mix. Explore Santiago’s historic centre and the many sights like the Castillo El Morro, the Santa Ifigenia cemetery and the Moncada museum.

Day 14: Santiago de Cuba – Baracoa
From Santiago de Cuba your trip continues on along wonderful country roads following the romantic coastline and cross over the famous La Farola pass before reaching the mesmerising coastal city of Baracoa. During a tour of Baracoa you will visit its different sights and get a feel of the city.

Day 15: Baracoa
Today you will head to Rio Toa near Baracoa, this is the river that brings water to most of the island. You will take one of the traditional boats known as “cayucos” to peacefully drift down the river and indulge the beautiful surroundings.

Today you will visit the Alexander-von-Humboldt National Park which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage program. On your walk through the park you will be able to refresh yourself under a waterfall and discover the unique flora and fauna the park offers.

Day 17: Baracoa - Cayo Saetia
Today we will leave Baracoa and head to Cayo Saetia Island. Here, away from mass tourism you can quietly enjoy the gorgeous Caribbean beach and sea.

Enjoy a day on the island as you wish. If you want to you can go on a jeep safari to observe imported African wildlife (optional).

Day 19: Cayo Saetia - Holguin
Today’s destination is Holguin. During a city tour you will once again be immersed into the Cuban lifestyle and culture and be able to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the city.

You will take a domestic flight back to Havana. Here you can make the most of your last night in Cuba as you wish.
