The area was the nerve centre of the Cuban revolution and even nowadays there is still a scent of revolution in the air.

The bus will take you to Sierra Maestra, the mountain range where Fidel Castro planned the revolution along with his revolutionaries. You will be able to bathe in a waterfall and explore the Comandancia de Tercer Frente, one of the former rebel bases.

You will leave Sierra Maestra today and travel to the small town Bayamo with your guide. Bayamo is named after the yacht that brought the revolutionaries to the Playa de las Coloradas in 1956. It is also said to be the cradle of nationalism and origin of political revolts.
