There is so much worth seeing in Cuba and so many experiences worth sharing, which is why we have compiled our Cuba Group Tours range. “Total Cuba” is a 14-day tour which allows you to fully explore the many facets of Cuba, including fantastic pristine beaches, picturesque cities and wild landscape from the East of the island to the West. Learn about Cuban life and people, and get under the skin of this unique culture as you explore the tobacco region around the Viñales Valley, the colonial city of Trinidad situated on Cuba's South coast and the second largest city and unofficial capital, Santiago de Cuba.
Visit to a tobacco factory
Our Cuba group tours are great for those interested in the truly uniquely Cuban elements of the country one of these being the delicate process of cigar manufacturing. Cuba's "brown gold", the tobacco cultivated in Cuba is considered to be the best in the world. Cohiba, Romeo y Julieta and Montecristo are all grown on Cuban soil and then dried and rolled by hand. In the province of Pinar del Rio you can observe the fine art of processing tobacco, from the selection of raw material to the finished product - “puros”, as they are called by the locals. The vast tobacco fields and drying barns are typical of this tranquil region, which offers a welcome taste of rural life and local charm along with a host of other activities.
Casa de la Trova
Dance plays a significant role on our Cuba group tours as it is a huge part of Cuban culture. For this reason, two of the highlights on our Total Cuba tour are visits to the Casa de la Trova in the heart of Trinidad and the dance house in the city of Santiago de Cuba. The Casa de la Trova is home to great live music and offers a meeting point for locals and tourists to celebrate the joy of life, Caribbean style! Cuba's unique musical contribution, the Son, was born in Santiago de Cuba and almost all Latin-American styles of music are derivatives and fusions of this, including salsa. Son combines the structure and elements of African rhythms with melodies of Spanish canción and guitar, painting a musical picture of Cuba's cultural history.
Santiago de Cuba
Our 2 week Cuba group tours introduce you to Santiago de Cuba, the second largest city in the country, often referred to as the “secret capital” of Cuba. It is a multi-dimensional city with many aspects and themes to learn about, particularly its history as the cradle of Latin-American styles of music. The city has never been americanized like Havana, which has meant it has preserved its authentic charm and has kept its rich historical heritage intact. On 1 January 1959 Fidel Castro proclaimed the victory of the Cuban Revolution from a balcony on Santiago de Cuba's city hall which is situated in the heart of the city near Parque Céspedes. In addition, the city nestles in a spectacular location, surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of the Sierra Maestra mountain range, the deep-blue sea, and fine sandy beaches with swaying palms.
