Museum
Chorro de Maita
The museum is based on the archaeological discoveries
that began during the 20´s on a native settlement
in Chorro de Maita. It’s possible to found one of
the greater common graves of the Antilles, with 108 skeletons,
which gives indications about funeral rites of the agricultural
cultures of zone, besides to show an European influence,
since they are with the arms crossed on the chest. This
hypothesis was confirmed with the finding of a Caucasian
skeleton, an assumed conqueror died by unknown causes.
