Museum
of Decorative Arts of Santa Clara
Located in an old mansion pertaining to the Carta family,
it offers to the public a furniture and decorative objects
of the colonial time collection. The exhibition overhauls
examples of the 18th and 19th centuries, where it’s
possible to appreciate the influences of the Cuban neo-classic,
imperial and Rococo styles.
Among the most outstanding objects are the 18th century
religious furniture and the perillita style pieces, as
well as a beautiful collection of tinajeros, a device
that contained water filters, used in the old colonial
houses to clean the water.
