Villa
Clara Provincial Museum
Located in the Abel Santamaria School, the museum has
an important historical collection that it overhauls all
the great significant events of the area, as well as its
cultural development and the local personalities of the
Cuban culture.
One of the most important collections is related to the
occupation of the city by the forces of Ernesto "Che"
Guevara, as part of the battle of Santa Clara, one of
the last battles of the independence war fought in Sierra
Maestra in the 50´s. It also has a rich collection
of natural history, and a room dedicated to the political
and cultural advances obtained by the Cuban woman throughout
history.
