House of Africa Museum

The House of Africa, founded on 1986 in a colonial palace of the Old Havana, is dedicated to portray the history and influences of Africa in Cuba. The collections, based on those of the investigator Fernando Ortiz and of the one of Fidel Castro, represents 26 African countries, specially those with a direct influence in the Cuban culture. The House of Africa is an important training centre, as well as a place where ethnologhists, anthropologists or students of afro-Cuban culture can present their findings.
