Provincial
Museum of Santiago of Cuba Emilio Bacardí
Second museum founded on Cuba, its original name was Museum
and Library of Santiago of Cuba. Named in honour of one
of its greater benefactors, Don Emilio Bacardi Moreau
-an important city industrialist-, the museum exhibits
very complete archaeological collections with Peruvian
and Egyptian mummies, as well as a complete Cuban colonial
painting collection. One of the strangest objects than
can be found here is a handmade torpedo made by the Cuban
rebels to destroy the Spanish cruises anchored in the
mouth of the Cauto river.
